This is a must read for every serious student of Integrated Biological Medicine. The information could well be a part of their microbiology study guides, enhancing their knowledge about this specific topic
The May 2003 issue of The Townsend Letter contained a very long and well thought out article by Ronald Ullman entitled A Modern Perspective On Prof. Enderlein’s Concept of Microbial Life Cycles. It shows that rather than look at it as western vs. alternative medicine, a combination of the two could prove more effective.
It rather succinctly shows that in 1925 when Prof. Enderlein proposed his theories of PleoMorphism and Bacterial Cyclogeny that DNA was unknown along with all of the other main discoveries regarding Protein metabolism
of the twentieth century. Therefore by applying current day knowledge Enderlein’s theories of plant protein becoming
higher fungal life forms that are infective and destructive to the mammalian organism aren’t possible and that Enderlein was incorrect in many ways.
Ullman actually admits however toward the end of his article, “Although many questions remain open about the cause of illnesses and the molecular mechanisms that enable and regulate life, science knows the precise prerequisites for organisms to exist and multiply”. And of course he says this after 8 pages of proof that Biology simply cannot be Enderlein’s way, without proposing a way of his own just saying “questions remain open”.
We now turn to Dr Rau who as a successful Medical Doctor from Switzerland who has accepted Enderlein as if he was correct and applied that knowledge to developing a very successful Medical Practice that is now World Famous
and which has a long track record of healing difficult illness with the use of Enderlein’s Sanum remedies, Homotoxicologies regulation and Milieu therapies and attracts patients and physicians from all over the world to
avail themselves of these healing methods.
Dr Rau has codified many of his methods into this new book that many American physicians will recognize as the collection of the summaries of his numerous USA seminars which began in 1994 and have been ongoing several times a year ever since. This is a good microbiology study guide for a student of this subject.
To quote from the summary page: “Biological Medicine is a comprehensive and integrated approach to health and Illness. It is “biological” and shows logically how we get ill by identifying the sequential phases of degeneration, which lead from minor ailments to various chronic diseases.
Illness is defined as a loss of regulatory capacity: that is, the inability to correctly respond to a wide variety of internal, environmental and lifestyle factors.
The internal milieu or terrain, a central idea in Biological Medicine, needs to be balanced so that pathogenic microbial forms cannot develop and cause numerous diseases. Internal sites of chronic focal infections and ‘disturbance fields’ but also toxic burdens are other important factors frequently overlooked in the treatment of degenerative diseases.
In Biological Medicine, healing is defined as the restoration of regulatory capacity. This is achieved by removing the physical and emotional blockages to self-healing. Detoxification methods, immune system activation and the mobilization of healing at the psychospiratual level enable the regeneration of body mind and soul.”
This book is 327 pages long in 35 well-written and edited chapters and in this reviewer’s opinion is a must read for any
serious student of Integrated Biological Medicine as he calls his field of Medicine in the very first chapter. Of course it must than be combined with a complete study of Homotoxicology which is referred to by Dr Rau when he refers to Dr H.H Reckeweg MD as a great Homeopath who initiated crucial developments in homeopathic science with
His 6-Phase teachings that explain the theory of Biological Medicine behind many issues.
After explaining his basic philosophy he goes on to supply 16 specific chapters that show his methods of treating; Rheumatic Disease, Diverticulitis, Colitis, Crohns Disease, Osteoporosis, Calcium Disorders, Menopause and
Female Hormones, Mononucleosis, Glandular Fever and Epstein Barr, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Epilepsy, Multiple
Sclerosis, Childhood Hyperactivity, Chronic Hypoglycemia, Prostate Carcinoma, Brain Tumors, Hypertension, Hepatitis B plus the Philosophy of Medicine that is useful in treating all of the common degenerative disease.
Ullman may indeed be correct in that Enderlein may not have explained things correctly but Dr Rau has truly
explained the practical side of things in his wonderful new book and has shown that the proof is in the pudding.

Dr Shelton has attended ten of Dr Rau’s USA seminars and served as the Master of ceremonies at those put on in Arizona from 1995 to 2000. He is the current USA Medical Director for HEEL INC., the producer of Homotoxicology remedies and combines the use of Heel and Sanum remedies in his Integrative Homotoxicology private practice in Phoenix Arizona.
