From January 2002 till mid-year 2003, the CDC has reported 4,266 cases in the western areas of the United States. Of these 4266 cases, 291 of those affected have died, which is a mortality rate of 6.8%. In 2003 so far, the largest outbreak of cases thus far has been in Colorado, indicating that the disease is spreading westward across the United States. If you look at the history of west nile disease, statistics show that it has a tendency to affect animals as well as mammals. Other statistics from earlier years have shown that this is an even more serious problem in horses, with 14,717 cases reported in 2002 alone, and an associated death rate of 35%.
This viral disease of the arbovirus family, and specifically the genus FLAVIVIRADAE, is therefore a serious problem for many species of mammals, is carried by mosquitos, and has a likely vector in birds. It does not appear transferable from one mammalian to another, and requires our little flying friends to infect humans. It presents as a neurological condition, with encephalitis and meningitis as the main presenting symptoms. Using the west nile vaccine could build immunity to this viral disease, helping the patient handle it better.
From a Homotoxicology perspective, this should be approached both from the standpoint of the presenting disease state; ie: encephalitis, and also as the severe Virus that is its known cause.
Practitioners are referred to Heel’s new practitioner handbook, where on page 57 one can see that the main remedies for Encephalitis are Belladonna Homaccord and Apis Homaccord. Secondary remedies are Traumeel,Cerebrum Comp and Nervoheel, with the phase remedies also being Belladonna Homaccord and Traumeel.
Page 114 shows the main remedies for Viral Disease to be Gripp Heel and Engystol. Secondary Remedies are listed as Engystol, Traumeel and Galium Heel, with the phase remedy choices being Traumeel, Thyroidea Compositum, Tonsilla Compositum, Coenzyme Compositum and Ubichinon.
One of the mainstays of Homotoxic therapy is what is known as Auto-Sanguis Therapy, where body fluids (blood, saliva, urine, etc.) are serially diluted with appropriate Heel remedies, and given to the patient either by injection techniques or by oral administration.
P.J. Broadfoot, a Homotoxicology-using Veternarian from Arkansas, has used the following protocol successfully on horses in her practice, and has taught the human offshoot of the procedure to physicians treating humans, with some good success:
- Day One—Mix equal parts of Belladonna Homaccord and Engystol with a drop of blood, succuss and inject at the crease of the left elbow.
- Day Two—Mix equal parts of Traumeel and Gelsemium homaccord with a drop of blood, succuss and inject at the right elbow crease.
- Day Three—Mix Discus Comp and Neuralgo-Rheum with a drop of blood, succuss and inject in arm over right deltoid area.
- Day Four—Rest.
- Day Five—Do a full-run Auto-Sanguis treatment with the following six remedies (Please ask your Heel Representative for the protocol if you don’t have it):
- Echinacea Compositum
- Belladonna Hommacord and Galium Heel
- Engystolplus Neuralgo-Rheum
- Discus Compositum
- Co-Enzyme Comp
- Ubichinon Comp
The last traces of the bottle after shot number 6 needs to be mixed into a maintenance cocktail consisting of Traumeel, Arnica-Heel and Belladonna Homaccord, taken 5 drops three times a day until gone. In addition, Engystol tablets are taken on alternating days with Echinacea Comp tablets.
For those practitioners unable or desiring not to inject remedies, an Immhauser Protocol may be used with precisely the above remedies, substituting saliva for blood and following the same handout that Heel will gladly supply regarding protocol needed, if you aren’t familiar with it.
Please remember NEVER TO CONSIDER INJECTING ANYTHING THAT STARTED WITH SALIVA AS IT’S BASE.
The theory behind the auto-therapies is that what is wrong with you is in your body fluids, and that by diluting it and taking it back, the immune system is stimulated to fight that which shouldn’t be in the body.
The success rate using these procedures can reduce both the morbidity and mortality of the the scourge of West Nile Virus.
