I couldn't sleep all night. I was getting crawling and biting sensations all over my body throughout the night. I got a flashlight to see what bugs were on me but could find nothing. My husband, sleeping next to me kept telling me to go back to sleep, that there was nothing there. He was not being bothered in the least. The next morning we could see that my entire body was full of welts. We immediately took off to the hospital. The doctor that saw me back then immediately recognized the welts as sand fleas. She explained that they weren't fleas at all and that they crawled under your skin. She percribed penecillin and benedryl. Well, the benedryl did absolutely nothing to help with the itching but upon taking the very first dose of penecillin, I could feel all of these things racining down and out of me. My daughter came home with the same exact welt markings back in april of this year (2009). I immediately recognized the welts and told her that they were sand fleas; however, when I took her to the doctors, we were told that they were scabies. I began the ususal routine of cleaning the entire house and everything in it. When I went to wash my daughters' comforter, I felt all of these critters jumping all over my hands and arms. The welts came on immediately. I washed everything in hot water and when I went to place the items into the dryer, I felt those little critters biting my hands and arms again. I thought that was strange as they should have been dead. Needless to say, here I am in December still suffering. Every doctor, dermotologist, etc. that I went to see said that if they were not scabies then that must mean that I was delusional. They told me that it was a chemical imbalance caused by stress and anxiety. I didn't get stressed until after 3 applications of permethrin that didn't work. Thanks to Mr. Common Sense, I have been able to slowly work my life back in order, although it's not easy and I'm exhausted that this thing has completely taken over my life, relationships, finances, work, sleep, everything. I have gone back on the net and have started reading up on the sand fleas. It's quite interesting; the corrolation between them, the parasites they carry, etc. and Morgellons. The white pustules with the black center. The lack of antogens in my blood tests. Their favorite food being decaying algea. The list goes on. The areas in which we Morgellons have in common seem to coincide with these crustations and the areas in which we differ seems to coincide with the various parasites that they carry. Unfortunately, it seems that some do eventually kill if not treated soon enough. I was just curious to see if anyone has made any studies between the relationship of these things and morgellons.
